The Main Page

I was wondering if we could somehow have a sections on the Main Page of “Featured Articles”, “In the news”, “Calendar”, etc like Wikipedia has except relating to atheism. I know this is not a pressing issue at this time because we have plenty of other tweaks to hammer out but in future I think it would be kind of neat. — Larro 2009/04/28 15:42

Of course we can, only someone has to organize it and we need to have something to show for it ;-)Divided by Zer0 2009/04/28 23:25

Fontcolor in syntax

To: db0

From: Larro

I'd like to request font color support in the dokuwiki syntax.php

There are a couple of plugins but they require editing of the syntax.php file

Feed Subscription

To: db0

From: Larro

If I'm understanding correctly there are two methods of subscription 1) Recent Changes and 2) Current Namespace. The first method is apparently a feed for all of Atheist Resources (http://ar.dbzer0.com/feed.php). The second method let's you subscribe to a namespace (ie. http://ar.dbzer0.com/feed.php?mode=list&ns=atheist_blogroll:blogs) but as far as I can tell will only notify if a page has been created and not if a page has been edited. Notification of edits could come in handy for pages in any given namespace.

Is there a way to remedy this? I took a look at my home install of dokuwiki's feed.php but my head was starting to swim (I'm not all that fluent in PHP).

I'll have to look into this. I didn't notice if namespace subscription sends emails for edits as well. Just testted this, subscribing to a namespace automatically subscribes you to all pages under it (new and old). So anyone subscribed to just the atheist blogroll will get a notification for all new pages and edits under it.
I've also added a new plugin for managing subscriptions, I'll create a page for it for people to use. — Divided by Zer0 2009/04/27 01:11

Custom Template

To: db0

From: Larro

Hey man, I've polished up monobook and have a pretty nice looking template if you want to try it out.

Here's a screen shot of my home install.

And the template itself:

arbook.tar.gz

Note: For some odd reason my navigation panel content came up missing (can be seen in the above image) but I don't know if this had anything to do with my editing the template or some other configuration I was messing around with.

Ok, never mind, I just reinstalled monobook and the navigation panel is still empty (on my home install).

Also, maybe we should try to come up with a nifty favicon.

Ok I've changed to the AR theme. looks Good, however it's missing the history bar on the top (which tells who where you've been). Any way we can restore this? — Divided by Zer0 2009/04/27 00:51
Hmm, I have no idea. When I get off from work I'll check it out. — Larro
I can not figure out why the backlinks is not working. I even reinstalled dokuwiki on my home server (starting from scratch) thinking a configuration file got corrupted. Hmm, it's possible this happened twice on my home install as I failed to make the plugins directory writable and had a problem installing the backlinks plugin (with a warning that the plugin could have a “partial install”…and somehow corrupted the template?). Nope, that wasn't it (I just checked). Currently, I am at a loss! — Larro 2009-04-28 18:05:41
Ok, I'll try out a few things. Don't be alarmed if you see the theme changing. — Divided by Zer0 2009/04/28 23:25
